We’re honoured and thrilled that the Lieutenant Governor is now using the Leadership Desk and that it will remain in his office. Government House is an inspring place and the desk is right at home!

“As the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and the ceremonial home of all British Columbians, I think Government House it is the most appropriate place for it in the province,” said the Lieutenant Governor.

The night will include a Riedel Glass Tasting of Alderlea Vineyards’ wines, a reception at the Arthur Vickers Gallery (with Arthur of course) and will finish with a four course Taste of Cowichan dinner by Chef Martin Harrison with local wine pairing. Childhood Memories

As a young man I spent hours on the water in clinker-built boats such as this one, time stood still as I explored the waters around me. The inspiration for this sketch is a Tyee boat painstakingly built by a local commercial fisherman in his off season; they are extraordinary, they are works of art.

Silently gliding along, lost in your thoughts: anything is possible, dreams are reality; there is wonder and awe in the simplest of moments, being on the water, a time to reflect, a time to remember.
